Our Story

It all began in the fall of 1903 when a group of local business professionals gathered in the back room of a downtown merchant tailor shop. Their goal was simple yet ambitious: to create a facility where they could enjoy the ancient and honorable game of golf. Despite the small population and a local economy driven by a rigorous workweek, their passion and vision led to the leasing of 33 acres of land, marking the birth of what would soon become a beloved gathering place for many.

From these humble beginnings, Wooster Country Club has grown into a prestigious institution, known for its lush, meticulously maintained 18-hole championship golf course that challenges and delights golfers of all levels. Our course's unique character, with a front nine added in 1974, offers diverse play that respects our history while embracing progress.
